Global Surgery Day Official Position Paper and Call to Action is Open for Endorsements!
SUBMIT YOUR FEEDBACK ON THE POSITION PAPER FOR GLOBAL SURGERY DAY 2026
Global Surgery Day 2026 is approaching at a critical moment for global health.
Following #WHA79 and the upcoming WHO ECO Strategy, this year’s theme focuses on the systems that support Emergency, Critical and Operative (ECO) care: from workforce and rehabilitation to supply chains, transport, digital infrastructure, financing, energy systems, advocacy, and beyond.
We want every corner of the global health community represented in this conversation, meaning we want voices from across the wider global health community involved, not only surgery.
The Global Surgery Day 2026 Position & Call to Action is now open for community feedback before endorsements officially open ahead of #GSD26 on May 25.

📢OPEN TO ENDORSE AND CO-SIGN
Organizations and individuals will receive the revised final draft following the community review process, along with additional information regarding the endorsement process during the endorsement period (May 20-24, 2026). At that stage, stakeholders may decide whether they wish to formally endorse or co-sign the final statement based on the finalized version following revisions and feedback integration.
Organizations proceeding with endorsement will be invited to provide:
• official organization name
• preferred logo format/file
• preferred endorsement name formatting
• relevant contact information
Please note that indicating interest at this stage does not constitute a formal endorsement commitment.
